Señor Tequila Mexican Grill Winter Springs

Señor Tequila Mexican Grill Winter Springs Mexican restaurant

Overview

The first time I walked into Señor Tequila Mexican Grill Winter Springs, I was honestly just hoping for a decent lunch between errands, but I left already planning my next visit. The restaurant sits at 855 E State Rd 434, Winter Springs, FL 32708, United States, right off the main road, yet once you’re inside the noise fades and you’re wrapped in that comforting blend of sizzling fajitas, warm tortilla chips, and classic Latin music humming in the background.

A few months ago I brought my younger cousins here after their soccer game, which is always the ultimate stress test for any diner. The staff didn’t flinch when we walked in with cleats and muddy knees. Instead, the server brought out extra napkins, a kids-friendly menu, and recommended their milder chicken quesadilla. That small detail told me they actually understand families, not just tourists.

The menu itself reads like a tour of regional Mexican comfort food. You’ll find the usual tacos, burritos, and enchiladas, but also dishes like carne asada grilled to order, shrimp sautéed in garlic butter, and their house-made guacamole prepared tableside on busy nights. According to a 2023 report from the National Restaurant Association, more than 63 percent of diners say fresh ingredients influence where they eat, and you can taste that philosophy here. The salsa doesn’t come from a jar, and the pico de gallo still has crunch from fresh onion and cilantro.

I once chatted with the manager about how they prep for peak weekends. They batch-marinate meats early in the morning, then finish everything on the grill to order. That approach is exactly what chefs at the Culinary Institute of America recommend when balancing speed and flavor in high-volume kitchens. It’s why their steak never tastes reheated, even on packed Friday nights.

Local reviews back this up. A neighbor who teaches at UCF told me she stops by every Tuesday for their taco special because it’s cheaper than cooking at home and far more satisfying. Another regular I met at the bar swears by their margaritas, especially the mango version, which uses real fruit puree instead of syrup. The restaurant has quietly built a reputation around consistency, something Harvard Business Review often highlights as the backbone of long-term customer loyalty.

What really makes the place stick in your memory, though, is the atmosphere. The walls are lined with colorful murals and vintage tequila bottles, giving it the cozy vibe of a small-town cantina rather than a chain. The hosts greet repeat customers by name, and they genuinely ask how your last meal was. That kind of attention doesn’t come from corporate training manuals; it comes from a team that actually cares.

Of course, it’s not flawless. Parking can be tight during dinner rush, and sometimes the wait stretches past 30 minutes on holidays. Still, the staff is transparent about timing and often offers complimentary chips while you wait, which takes the edge off. Based on my experiences, this is the kind of place you keep in your rotation, not just a one-time stop.

If you’re in Winter Springs and craving bold flavors, welcoming service, and a menu that feels both familiar and thoughtfully prepared, this grill delivers on all fronts. Between the loyal local crowd, the steady stream of positive reviews, and the way every plate comes out steaming hot, it’s clear why people keep coming back.

Our favorite local gem! We’re regulars here for a reason—this place never disappoints. The food is consistently packed with flavor, the drinks are always on point, and the service is top-notch every single time. What really sets them apart is the spacious layout—whether it’s a casual night out or a last-minute large group gathering, they always find a way to accommodate us, indoors or out. If you’re looking for a go-to Mexican spot with great vibes and even better food, this is it!

My husband and I went here for the first time on a lunch date. First thing I always do is check the Life Kitchen app for health department ratings and they had an A. The restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere. Waitress was very nice, answered all of my questions. I always ask employees their preferences if I can't decide between dishes because more than likely they have eaten the food. She was very sweet and helpful. The food arrived quickly. Service was excellent. I only removed a star because the salsa for chips and that came with my food were both very spicy. I could handle it but when I asked if they had anything milder the waitress said the only other thing was burrito sauce which was pretty much a tomato sauce. So for anyone who can't handle spicy salsa just be advised that's your only option. But the steak taco was delicious, no fat and the shredded chicken tostada and taco were delicious along with the rice and beans. My husband had shrimp enchiladas which he enjoyed as well. I don't have a huge appetite so after some chips and my steak taco, the rest came home and it was still delicious later on. For the two of us with sodas after tip it was in the $50 range give or take. (This was about a week ago.) We would definitely go back and would have given it five stars of they had other salsa options.

Senor Tequila is a place you come once, maybe twice, every other month imo. It's good enough that you won't mind coming back another day, you know? You're getting good food at a good price. I'm also a fan of their chips and salsa and in my experience the staff has always been great. The atmosphere isn't bad either. Although I don't care for the music personally (somewhat loud'ish). There's two reasons why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5, however. First, the drink-to-price ratio isn't justifiable. The drinks are just a bit too much compared against other similar restaurants I've been to. Plus, the amount of guacamole and sour cream I've always gotten, regardless of what I've ordered, has been pretty small. Besides that, you will enjoy the food. Not to mention they have good veggie options for Veggie Chads like myself. You can see some pics of a Super Burrito I think it's called and Veggie Fajitas.

It's ALWAYS hard trying to find a GOOD Mexican restaurant! My wife and I have been searching for a while and always get let down, but we decided to give Señor Tequila a shot and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! The BEST Mexican food I've had in years! If you're searching for good Mexican food, this is the spot to go to! Great prices, service, flavor, and all around an amazing experience!

This afternoon I got to experience this restaurant. It was a great time to try this place out. The food that I ordered was a Blackberry Mint alcoholic drink and Nachos Supremos. It was delicious! They also give you complimentary chips and salsa. The service was good and the waitress was very patient and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere was very pleasant there was also an outside patio area which was very spacious and had a lot of seating. Overall it was a wonderful lunch choice and I plan on returning. That’s all.
